Eid Day: Sheikh Ramadhan Mubajje condemns brutal arrest, torture of MPs, journalists and protesters

Sheikh Ramadhan Mubajje has lashed out at the security forces for using excessive force while arresting protestors in Kampala yesterday. 

Mubajje has also condemned the arrest and torture of Members of Parliament and other people by the security forces in Arua last week.

He made the remarks during the Eid-Al-Adha prayers he was leading at Old Kampala Mosque in Kampala. 

“The people had already surrendered. Why arrest them in such an unprofessional way by beating them with sticks and guns like lesser humans?”

“Someone has put his hands up, as a sign of surrendering or innocence, but you go on and beat him or her up? That is not good at all. Such people are the reason why regimes become hated,” Mufti Mubajje said.
