Kabaka Ronald Mwenda Mutebi is reportedly distressed by the unfolding events that led to the torture and detention of his loyal and popular subject, Hon. Kyagulanyi Sentamu aka Bobi Wine who goes by the moniker ‘Omubanda Wa Kabaka’.

In a visit to the family, a team from Mengo led by Ambassador Emmanuel Ssendawula delivered the royal message to Barbie Itungo, Bobi Wine’s wife.

“The ongoing events are distressing to the king and he sent us to reassure of his support to your family.  The kingdom condemns acts of torturing detainees.  We have come to assure you we are behind you”, he stated.

The king has thus appointed a team led by Prime Minister Charles Peter among other high level Mengo officials to visit Bobi Wine at Gulu Central Prison this week.

Bobi Wine is held at Gulu Central Prison with legislators Paul Mwiru,  Gerald Karuhanga, Arua MP-elect Kasiano Wadri, former MP Mike Mabikke and over 30 others. The group is charged with treason.

In related developments,  MP Zaake Francis is reportedly in need of urgent specialized treatment.
