NBS journalist beaten by soldiers in Kamwokya protest, gov’t responds

NBS TV journalist Joshua Mujunga is currently receiving treatment at Kampala Hospital after he was beaten by military personnel in Kamwokya this morning.

The Cameraman was part of the journalists who were covering protests in Kamwokya.

According to Joshua, soldiers charged at the group as they ran for their dear lives. Unfortunately for him, when the soldiers noticed he was taking a footage, they singled him out and caught up with him. He narrated that he was beaten and forced to delete the footage.

Government spokesperson, Ofwono Opondo has responded to the incident stating that the issue will be investigated and the culprits will be brought to book.

“Every reported matter of mistreatment, brutality or high handedness shall be investigated and punished”, he tweeted.
