Electricity distribution company, Umeme says the power outage in various parts of the country is due to system failure at Owen Falls Dam, Jinja.
In a tweet, Umeme assured Ugandans that the situation is being assessed.
However, they also noted that they could not confirm when the system would be restored.
The outage coincided with Bobi Wine’s live appearance on popular Voice of America Talkshow, ‘Straight Talk Africa’ with Shaka Ssali thus triggering anger.
The legislator’s interview is airing on local television stations.
