Abenakyo and the MAK Vice Chancellor, Prof Nawangwe sharing a moment of joy.

When the Lord has blessed you, the blessings come in hundreds of thousands. This must the testimony that the Miss World Africa is telling after the back-to-back success she has attained in the last couple of months.

The 22-year-old who was pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Computing from the Makerere University Business School (MUBS) has this morning graduated amidst jubilations and ululations from friends and family.

This milestone follows her victory in the Miss World Finals held in Sanya, China that saw the girl from Mayuge become the first Miss World – Africa from Uganda.

Abenakyo was also appointed a tourism ambassador by the Uganda Tourism Board and besides being the reigning Miss Uganda, she brokered a deal that brought the Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga to work with on her Charity project that is looking to keep teenage girls in school and reduce teenage pregnancies.

If Abenakyo was to count her blessings one by one as the church hymn suggests, she would have run out of fingers already.

Congratulations Quiin!
