Kadaga asks IGP Ochola to promote traffic policewoman roughed up by Maj Gen. Kyaligonza and his bodyguards

The Speaker of parliament, Hon. Rebecca Kadaga has requested the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Martin Okoth Ochola to promote the female traffic officer, Sgt Esther Namaganda, who was manhandled by Maj. Gen. Matayo Kyaligonza and his bodyguards on Sunday morning while performing her duties.

First condemning the actions of Maj. Gen. Kyaligonza and his bodyguards, saying they were unacceptably insolent, Speaker Kadaga said Sgt. Namaganda deserves to be rewardeed for being an exemplary, committed officer who stood by her responsibility and played her role in the face of adversary.

The speaker promised that in today’s (Tuesday) parliamentary seating, Members of Parliament will debate about the matter.

However, Kadaga also praised the UPDF for taking immediate action when the regrettable incident happened.

Sgt. Esther Namaganda was over the weekend roughed up by Maj. Gen. Kyaligonza and his bodyguards as she attempted to stop them from making a U turn in the middle of the road at Seeta in Mukono.
