City Lawyer, Male Mabirizi has dragged motor-mouthed former Presidential Press Secretary Tamale Mirundi for issuing defamatory statements against him while speaking live at a radio station . Mabirizi says Mirundi accused of him of being an agent of Foreign Affairs Minister, Sam Kuteesa, a claim the lawyer says is meant to tarnish his name.

In his suit before the High Court Civil Division, Mabirizi states that Mirundi uttered the statements while appearing at 107.9 Pearl FM on Saturday March, 23rd, 2019. Mabirizi further says the program was broadcast on the station’s YouTube Channel and had been listened to by 19,109 people by the time he filed the case.

Mabirizi quoted Mirundi in his suit saying: “We know who uses that child, he may be beaten several sticks he does not know. That child you…I saw them saying that he is a lawyer…this one who is not a lawyer who also went to the Supreme Court.”

In the suit Mabirizi also quoted Tamale Mirundi saying that the reason as to why Rebecca Kadaga is hospitalized is because she got some shocking news after the election of the Buganda NRM Caucus Committee, to the effect that Kutesa is aiming to boot her from the Speaker’s chair and using elements under his patronage, who include Male Mabirizi.

Mabirizi wants Mirundi to withdraw his statements using the same channels on which they were broadcast and circulated. He also wants an apology and costs of general damages.

Court has summoned Mirundi to file his defense within fourteen days before the matter is allocated to a judge for hearing.
