Major General Kasirye Ggwanga is all ‘fumes’ after police yesterday recovered the body of her young sister, Irene Najjita who had been missing for a fortnight.

The decomposing body of Najjita was retrieved from a pit-latrine at her home in  Kitalegerwa Village, Nalutuntu Sub County in Kassanda District. Wamala region Police spokesperson, Norbert Ochom says that they have been on a hunt for Najjita since her relative reported a case of a missing person two weeks ago.

Ochom further reveals that yesterday (Thursday), Najjita’s neighbours reached out to the police after experiencing a foul stink from the pit-latrine. He says Police immediately swung into action only to find Najjita’s body decomposing in the latrine.

” The deceased’s body was found in a pit- latrine at her home. The latrine was full of ashes at its edge. It is suspected that someone had been pouring ashes every day to conceal evidence,” Mr Ochom said.

For Gen Gwanga, retrieving is not enough and he has demanded Police to investigate the case and apprehend his sister’s killers.

“She didn’t have a grudge with anybody and we are surprised that thugs took her life in such a brutal manner. We want the police to thoroughly investigate and tell us what the intention of the killers was,” Gen Gwanga said.
