21 Kampala International School students graduate in prestigious IB course, expected to scoop scholarships from American & Canadian universities

Kampala International School Uganda (KISU) today held its 10th graduation ceremony in honour of 21 students who completed their International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.

According to the School Director Steve Lang, the acquired diploma will enable their students study from any University of their choice around the world since it makes them capable of doing a variety of courses.

“IB Diploma is the most prestigious qualification for students leaving International secondary School. It is recognized by over 600 universities over the world including all the Ivy leagues Schools in America and Russell group in the UK,” said Lang.

The Russell Group has 24 member universities which are all world class and carry out intensive research. These include; University of Cambridge, London School of Economics and Political Science, University of Oxford, University of Edinburgh, University of Leeds and the University of Birmingham among others.  

While the Ivy League is a group of top eight Universities in that US that include Havard University, Yale University, Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania and Dartmouth College.

“Generally our students have on average performed well above the world average. The world average is 29 points while KISU students have always scored an average 31 points,” Lang said.

He also added on that most of the KISU students are already lined up for scholarships in American and Canadian Universities worth USD 500,000.

KISU is one of the few schools in Uganda offering the IB diploma making it possible for the citizens to access international quality education.
