Speaking at the National Heroes Day celebration in Wakiso District, Kasanje Play grounds, President Museveni has asked the nation to stop sending him Opposition Members of Parliament.
“Next time, send me NRM representatives, the rest are just wasting time.” Museveni said.
Museveni sighted an example of the people of Busiro South for sending him Peter Sematimba who he can relate with as their representative and also added on that this year they are going to work on the Mpigi-Kasanje road.
According to Museveni ,Heroes Day is important because powerful men and woman laid their lives to bring the peace we are enjoying.
“We made this day a public holiday because on this day in 1981,the government army arrested nine of our supporters and executed them without any legal procedure.” Museveni said
He added on that many people were executed and as a result 33 masses graves are in the Luweero Triangle.
