After being cleared of contempt of parliament, Security Minister General Elly Tumwine vowed never to apologise for saying truth.

Gen. Tumwine said there are people whose efforts and minds are dedicated to stopping him from talking about the good things of the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

“Whoever asks me to not talk about where we’ve come from should know that the preamble of our constitution starts like that. Let lies that are being propagated be challenged,” Tumwine said.

Being a ‘good’ leader, the minister said he is willing to solve the matter as he announced himself ready to receive apologies from Bokonzo West MP Atkins Katushabe and Woman MP for Dokolo Cecilia Ogwal who called him a bully.

“I’m here waiting for Hon Cecilia Ogwal’s apology regarding her accusations of me holding a gun towards her,” he said.

He revealed that Ogwal mistook his finger for a gun as he said; “When I’m speaking, I use my finger. Hon. Ogwal went ahead to say I used it as a gun. In parliament we don’t carry guns; we use our words and brains to argue.”

Tumwine claimed nobody loves parliament than he does and for that case he can never use a gun against anyone while at parliament.
