Despite being the very person who launched it in 2015 after it was approved by cabinet in 2007, President Yoweri Museveni has questioned Uganda’s development plan Vision 2040 as he described the strategy to be of people with weak minds.

Museveni said Uganda currently has the ability and resources to fulfill its visions on a short run basis.

“I have never supported vision 2040, it is too far,” Museveni said at the launch of a book titled Uganda’s march to industrialization by the Minister for general duties Mary Karooro Okurut.

He proposed few basics that can be done to implement the vision as soon as possible. He said giving scientists good pay, encouraging irrigation for agriculture and elimination of corruption can see Uganda develop in just 10 years.

Uganda’s Vision 2040 aims at transforming Ugandan society from a peasant to a modern and prosperous country. In this, the government targets sustainable and stable development of people’s quality of life.
