As Uganda’s leading opposition party Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) is closing in on its preparations for their 15th Anniversary celebration slated for Monday, December 16, Democratic Party (DP) President Norbert Mao mockingly wished them a decent enjoyment in their adolescent stage.

Mao did not say this based on the way the party conducts its operations but because of the years they have spent in Uganda’s political arena since they were founded by Dr Kizza Besigye in 2004.

Salaamu Musumba, the FDC party vice chairperson for Eastern Uganda said the celebration is another step of enjoying their teenage life in the politics of Uganda.

She said they have survived all the eight ‘political killer diseases’ and that they are ready to thrive up to the adult stage and many more years to come.

This week on Wednesday, the FDC Party leadership met with the leadership of Uganda Police at Naguru headquarters in Kampala for clearance of their event.

After the meeting, party Secretary General Nathan Nandala Mafabi said all requirements have been met and people have to just come and celebrate with them.

“A lot has been achieved by the Party. You are all welcome to celebrate the 15 years of consistent struggle,” Nandala said.
