Democratic Party (DP) President Norbert Mao will always have a ridiculous spot on comment on every issue however serious it might be. During NBS TV’s Frontline Show yesterday evening, Mao mocked President Museveni’s Cabinet reshuffle.

Mao said the reshuffle no longer makes any big news because the President acts as the alpha and omega which has destroyed all government institutions.

“We don’t have a new Cabinet,” Mao said explaining that Museveni just did a mere recycle of his old fellows. He then threw a bombshell saying; “You cannot make a good omelet by shuffling around rotten eggs.”

He went further to explain why Museveni once again got stuck to his usual old people. Mao said, “The President needs to console himself that he is not old. That is why he keeps the old in the Cabinet.”

Government Spokesperson Ofwono Opondo defended his boss about his choice of appointments.

“The President must get people who are 100% loyal to him. Matters of competence are debatable. If this Cabinet can help the President to maintain stability, it is part of competence,” Ofwono Opondo said.

He added, “At the end of the day, it is the President who knows why he appoints and disappoints. If this is the team that will make the President finish the manifesto and galvanize support, what is wrong with that?”
