This morning, Members of Parliament and other Parliamentary staff led by Speaker Rebecca Kadaga have come together to participate in a charity walk as one of the activities that will take place in the Annual Parliament week that will go on until Saturday January 25, 2020.

The charity walk is intended to act as a platform to raise funds for the construction of a rehabilitation centre for people living with albinism in Uganda. Parliament projects to raise over Shs5 billion from the charity walk.

Uganda has a sizeable population of people living with albinism who face challenges like low vision, sun damage that usually results into skin cancer and discrimination. The rehabilitation centre will exclusively cater for their needs to help them live a normal life.
