As you are all already aware, desert locusts have already crossed over to Uganda from our neighbours Kenya but they did not find us unaware, the government has been preparing itself for this invasion.

Since the announcement of the invasion last evening, government has already deployed 2000 soldiers of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) to fight these locusts, and that is not all.

A few hours ago, the pesticides that are to be sprayed to the locusts arrived at Kololo Independence grounds and have been airlifted to Karamoja region specifically in the region of Amudat, and now Nakapiripirit where the locusts have proceeded to.
