As we get closer to 2021, the election fever is mounting with those with political aspirations trying all means to reach their would-be voters next year. As we speak, 29 candidates have expressed their interest in running for the top seat in the land, with the buzz mostly around Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine.

Ever since Bobi Wine announced his intentions to stand against President Museveni come next year, almost everyone has come out to weigh in on his chances, give advice, criticize or try to stop him.

This morning, Rtd Maj. Gen. Kasirye Ggwanga while appearing on NBS TV also weighed in on Bobi Wine’s Presidential bid, and offered a few pieces of advice to the People Power leader on how to go about his aspirations.

Kasirye revealed how he is training Bobi Wine for the Presidency not in the elections coming next year, but the ones after that in 2026.

“I know Bobi Wine more than you do. I am training him for the Presidency in 2026,” Kasirye revealed, although he declined to say what particular lessons he is giving the youthful aspirant.

When asked what he (Bobi Wine) is lacking to be ready for the upcoming elections in 2021, the retired military officer only offered advice, saying, “Bobi Wine should cut down the crowd that follows him. Who wants someone to come and fire the up street with tyres? Who is grabbing the phones?” Kasirye wondered.

Kasirye Ggwanga is one of the bush war generals that ushered the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government into power in 1986.
