Pastor Yiga to start his own ‘religion,’ to accommodate only prophets and miracle performers

Controversial Pastor Augustine Yiga of Revival Church Kawaala seems to have come out from prison with ideas as he is set to start new ‘religion.’ While presenting Miracle Moment show on his TV station ABS, Yiga said the existing Born Again faith in Uganda led by Dr. Joseph Sserwadda dictatorial in nature and he cannot operate under their umbrella.

Yiga said the Born Again Faith has misrepresented the Men of God who have the gifts of performing miracles and telling prophetic speeches. He said they (Born Again Faith) label their powers satanic both in the population and in government.

Yiga revealed that the new ‘religion’ will only accommodate pastors with healing, deliverance and prophetic powers. Yiga disclosed how he is preparing to get in touch with the government ministry responsible for registering new religion.

He urged fellow miracle performing pastors, Samuel Kakande and Brother Ronnie among others to come on board and support his ideal.

Yiga was last week released from Kitalya Prison following a successful bail application. Yiga was a month ago remanded to prison by Mwanga II Magistrate’s Court for allegedly doing an act likely to spread coronavirus.

Prosecution led by Ms Safina Bireeke claimed that Pastor Yiga on March 27, 2020 at Revival Christian Church Kawaala in Rubaga Division before BBS television, Spark TV, NBS TV and Sanyuka TV cameras said: “There is no Corona virus in Uganda and Africa” knowing or having reason to believe that it is likely to spread COVID-19. Yiga however denied the charge against him.
