While the confirmed COVID-19 cases have not yet hit Uganda that hard, the restrictions to tame the spread of the pandemic seem to be slowly causing a series of issues in society.

Cases of domestic violence have absurdly shot up during this lockdown period and reports indicate that lack of what to feed the family is mostly the cause of disagreements that later turn into violent actions.

Sad news coming in indicates that a man in Kabale district has committed suicide by hanging after allegedly failing to raise Shs1000 to buy a sachet of salt for his family.
