People Power leader Bobi Wine and Tanzanian President John Magufuli are among the Top 50 African disruptors.

In a report published by the Africa Report, the 50 personalities were picked from a pool ranging from politicians, athletes, investigative journalists, techies and business barons and were credited for changing the rules of the game, some for better and others for worse on the continent.

Bobi Wine is named as a political game-changer who has massively stood up to challenge the status quo. For Magufuli, he is named as an authoritarian reformer having shaken things up in Tanzania from day one when he arrived unannounced in various civil-servant offices and started slapping tax writs on bill dodgers.

Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali is also on the list for his determination to ensure peace and stability across the region.

Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote is also ranked for his vibrant refinery system that has been a game-changer in the energy market in West Africa since 2016.

South Africa’s opposition leader Julius Malema, Joseph Kabila, and Félix Tshisekedi also featured for their power struggle while Kenyan marathoner Eliud Kipchoge featured on the list since he has won 12 out of the 13 marathons he has participated in.

Kipchoge holds records for the fastest and second-fastest marathon speeds in human history. Further, he also holds two Guinness World Records for the fastest male marathon distance runner, and the first marathon distance sub-two hours.
