Besigye applauds Bobi Wine’s decision to withdrawal election petition

Four-time presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye has said that he was not surprised by Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi’s decision to withdraw the presidential petition from the Supreme Court.

Besigye says that it was a good decision because the direction it was headed for since he filed the petition was clear that the institution was biased.

The opposition strongman who in the past filed two petitions challenging President Yoweri Museveni’s victory in 2006 and 2011 before he declared that he would never to go to court again even when he participated in the 2016 elections, insists that Uganda has a problem with its power and administration structure as all institutions have been compromised and put under one man Museveni.

“The power structure of our country is a one man rule and that’s what we want to change,” says Besigye.

Today the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing of the withdrawal application for the petition to next week after Kyagulanyi’s lawyers formally requested the Supreme Court to withdraw their presidential petition challenging President Yoweri Museveni’s victory in the 2021 polls.
