Lawyers of former presidential candidate Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi led by Medard Sseggona have today morning formally requested the Supreme Court to withdraw their presidential petition challenging President Yoweri Museveni’s victory in the 2021 polls.

However, the Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing of the withdrawal application for the petition to next week.

And according to the Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny Dollo, Kyagulanyi’s application seeking to withdraw the Presidential petition will be published in the Uganda gazette first before it can be entertained by the Supreme Court.

Bobi Wine decided to withdraw the petition saying that it’s about time they get out of the mockery of the Supreme Court which he accuses of operating in favour of President Museveni as they have failed to work independent of the Executive arm of government.

The presidential hopeful said that the matter will now be decided in the court of public opinion.
