Speaker Rebecca Kadaga has directed Internal Affairs Minister Gen. Jeje Odongo to release the list of Ugandans that have gone missing in the recent wave of abductions.

The Speaker told the Minister of Internal Affairs to provide a complete list of all missing persons currently in the custody of security agencies.

Kadaga was reminded by Kawempe North legislator Latif Ssebagala who said that government is taking long to produce the list of Ugandans who went missing during the 2021 election yet President Yoweri Museveni on February 13 during his national address directed that the names be released within two weeks.

“We demand an explanation from the Government,” said Latif.

During his national address, Museveni directed the security agencies to make the list public and also put an end to the abductions and kidnap.

Earlier this month, Jeje Odongo confirmed to parliament that government cannot trace 31 of the 44 who have allegedly been kidnapped in the country in the past month.    He instead appealed to the public to report the alleged incidents of kidnap to Police.
