Police takes lawyer Kasango’s body; awaiting relatives to resolve conflict on whether to bury him in Tooro or Tororo

Police took possession of deceased lawyer Bob Kasango’s body this afternoon, following a family row on where he should be laid to rest.

Kasango 46, was serving a 16-year sentence in Luzira prison over a Shs15bn pension scam. He succumbed to heart failure.

After the funeral service at All Saints Cathedral in Nakasero this morning, Kasango’s relatives from Tororo took the casket from A-Plus Funeral Management company that was taking his remains to Tooro and bundled it onto  truck to head to his ancestral home in Tororo.

Deceased lawyer Bob Kasango.

Kasango’s widow Nice Bitarabeho was behind the plan to have him buried in her ancestral home in Tooro and his mother Rose Kabise was behind the Tororo group.

Kampala Metropolitan Police has reveleaed that they intercepted the truck carrying Kasango’s remains in Namugongo, Kiira Municipality after the wife reported the matter to Police.

“The body was handed over to A-Plus funeral service managers until the family agree on where to bury the deceased. It is now under the protection of police,” a statement from Police reads.
