Following Uganda Revenue Authority (URA)’s notice ordering Bobi Wine to pay Shs337,698,776 to rescue his car, several fundraising campaigns have been circulated all over social media asking Bobi Wine supporters to help him meet the URA taxes.

Through his social media, Bobi Wine has come out distancing himself from the on going fundraising campaigns.

“My attention has been drawn to some unscrupulous people who are trying to take advantage of the URA challenge to extort money from the public. Please note that this and such others are not sanctioned by us. We are still studying this unfortunate step by the regime and we shall inform you on the way forward,” said Bobi Wine in a post.

Bobi Wine protested the call for him to pay extra fees claiming that the car was legally cleared by all relevant agencies.
