Police spokesperson Fred Enanga has claimed that National Unity Platform (NUP) party presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi alais Bobi Wine is planning to swear himself as the President in Iganga.

While addressing the media this morning, Enanga said that Bobi Wine has always insisted that his victory was robbed and declares himself the elected President of Uganda.

“We know that such kangaroo swearing-in is common with first runners up. This is an act of impunity that is illegal and treasonous,” said Enanga.

Earlier today, Bobi Wine through his social media claimed that his home in Magere has been surrounded by police and the military.

However, Enanga said that their teams are on patrol to stop any kind of threat. He added that they even have teams trolling and monitoring cyberspace for bad images and false messages aimed at inciting the public to disrupt the swearing-in.

“Whatever process is going on is very legal and legitimate (swearing-in). Those who want to disrupt are the ones in the wrong,” he said.

Enanga also discouraged the public from coming to Kololo for the swearing-in.

He said, “The event will be broadcast live, you can follow from the media so that you are not inconvenienced.”
