Today morning, a beefed up security team surrounded the home of the Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine in Magere, Wakiso District.

Bobi Wine through his social media claimed that the deployment is because of the forthcoming swearing in of President Yoweri Museveni slated for this Wednesday, May 12.

Deo Akiki, the Army Deputy spokesperson has said that the deployment at Bobi Wine’s residence is for his own good.

“We accord security based on the weight of a person. Bobi Wine is a distinguished Ugandan. His security can’t be as anybody else’s,” said Akiki.

He refuted that the deployment is to block Bobi Wine from getting out of his house ahead of the swearing in.

“He was invited. I saw the invitation. If he decides to attend, we shall escort him,” he said.

The security forces have continuously accused elements in the opposition of having plans to interrupt the swearing in of president-elect Museveni. And Police spokesperson Fred Enanga today revealed how a presidential candidate is planning to swear himself in from Iganga.
