Swearing in onlookers especially on social media are always looking out for incidents that make the event look so Ugandan, if you know, you know.

Yesterday it indeed happened after co wives of the Arua legislator crashed at the podium with each wanting to be the closest to the husband who was taking oath.

The oath taking ceremony at the 11th parliament has yet again today got a bit comical as the new representative for the people of Bubulo east, Hon John Musila was sworn in.

Musila was made to repeat his oath of allegiance after he excitedly used the Rastafarian ‘Jah’ instead of God. He wasted no time and repeated the oath.

By end of the day yesterday, a total of 265 MPs had been sworn in (from day one to day two). Today 130 MPs are set to be sworn in and by press time, the clerk of parliament had announced a break after administering oaths to 68 MPs.

The event will resume this afternoon at 1.30pm.
