Last week President Museveni released his long awaited cabinet list, with many surprise names emerging, the cabinet was met with a lot of criticism.

Being one of the Cabinet members, Hon. Chris Baryomunsi the Minister for information and Communication designate who was appearing on the NBS Morning Breeze said that elites criticize the cabinet for the sake of criticizing it.

“Some elites are just criticizing the cabinet for the sake of criticizing the cabinet. We have learnt to live with that part of the population. The majority of the Ugandans are happy with the cabinet that has been constituted,” said Hon. Baryomunsi.

He also disagreed with the said notion that President Museveni bases on loyalty alone while appointing people in his cabinet.

“There’s poor appreciation of how the Cabinet works. The Minister is supported by the civil service, a huge team of technocrats. It is not correct to say that President comes and forces his views on the Cabinet,” said Baryomunsi.

While commenting on his designated sector, Hon. Baryomunsi said that he has fair view of what the ICT entails and it’s challenges wherein which he vows to address.
