UNEB postpones release of 2020 examination results due to lockdown

The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) has postponed the release of 2020 national examination results due to the stricter lockdown imposed by President Yoweri Museveni on Friday.

Last week, Jennifer Kalule, the UNEB spokesperson revealed how UNEB was planning to release results before the end of this month of June.

“We are finalizing the process for the release of the results. We are now handling the award process of the PLE and this will be followed by UCE awards next week. Thereafter we hope to have results released soon,” Kalule noted last week.

However, due to the new COVID-19 restrictions, Kalule says that the release will take a little longer as their offices are now closed yet some tasks require staff to be physically present.

Nevertheless Kalule explains that UNEB will release the results on time to enable the candidates fit in the available school calendar that is expected to start in September this year.

At least 1,181,965 candidates sat for their final examinations at different levels of P7, S4, and S6.
