Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire has warned that officers will take action against any politician ahead of planned anti-lockdown demonstrations.

Owoyesigyire claims that Police has received information of a planned demonstration and riot by some disgruntled politicians.

“It should be noted that it is illegal to plan any gatherings that contravene Ministry of Health guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” says Owoyesigyire.

We urge the planners of this activity not to continue with their actions.

“They should look for other options to air out their grievances. The police will not desist from arresting anyone who will participate in such illegal activities,” he says.
