News coming in from Turkey indicates that Turkey based Ugandan National Unity Platform (NUP) blogger Fred Lumbuye aka Chemical Ali has been arrested.

Lumbuye is said to have been kidnapped yesterday and taken to unknown destination. Fellow bloggers claim that he was arrested by Ugandan embassy in Turkey following attempts to renew his passport.

The motormouthed blogger is known for making reckless statements online via Facebook Live against President Museveni, the first family, Buganda Kingdom, Katikiro Peter Mayiga and other government personalities.

There are claims that the government of Uganda is planning to extradite him and charge him in courts of law.

Lumbuye once said that President Museveni has no capacity of arresting him. He said government has been looking for him for four years but the Turkish embassy has been rejecting their requests.
