FDC to Gov’t: If you can fight Al Shabaab out of Mogadishu, why is it that the group in Masaka hasn’t been contained

As the country is sadly concerned about the rampant killings in Masaka sub region by the machete welding gang, Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has blamed government for not doing enough to eliminate the group terrorizing residents in Masaka.

FDC wonder how a government that is always sending forces to other countries cannot contain a machete gang in Masaka.

“If you can take soldiers from Uganda to Somalia and fight Al Shabaab out of Mogadishu. How do you fail to fight ADF out of Kampala? As FDC we believe something is lacking in the issue of Masaka,” says FDC.

It adds; “Where did this culture of pangas come from? This culture of cutting people wasn’t Ugandan, maybe they were imported into the country from somewhere else.”

FDC urges government to send more intelligence officers to Masaka than ministers who are flocking the region. It also wants gov’t to increase the salaries of intelligence officers and also equip them with modern techonology.

As of today morning, 28 people have been hacked to death by the panga welding gang and about 69 suspects have been arrested in connection to the murders.
