Police in Nansana has arrested a woman, Annet Kiiza, for kidnapping her child to get ransom from her husband.

Kiiza and her sister Annet Tumusiime are said to have conspired and kidnapped Dan Male (a 4-year-old son to Kiiza and husband Denis Sebulime) and called the husband to pay a Shs32 million ransom to secure his release.

“Initially, we were told that the boy had been kidnapped while playing with other children. But we later established that the mother was behind the whole move,” said Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga.

Enanga said the two threatened to cut the kid into pieces if the husband fails to pay the ransom. He revealed that the two sisters were arrested and are currently being interrogated.

He appealed to women to find better ways of getting money from their husbands, other than engaging in ’embarrassing’ criminal acts.
