Fire has gutted a timber building in Mbarara City. The fire is said to have started at around 1:00 am and it has so far extended to the nearby garages where it has destroyed many cars.
The destroyed properties are timber kiosks near Mbarara bus park, along Akiiki-Nyabongo road in Mbarara City. One person has been confirmed dead, 14 others injured while property worth billions burnt into ashes.
Police fire brigade are on ground trying to stop the fire.
