Deputy Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has directed Clerk to Parliament to implement with the immediate effect her earlier directive, to ensure that everyone who comes to Parliament presents a Covid vaccination card.

Among said that legislators need to lead by example so that the citizens are encouraged to take up the Covid-19 vaccines.

“We need to take the COVID threat seriously and encourage vaccination across the country,” said Among.

Parliament becomes the third government institution to ban unvaccinated people from accessing its premises. The Ministry of Health and National Medical Stores already announced the move.

In his recent address, Museveni said that by January 2022, Uganda will have vaccinated about 12 million people hence the economy will be fully reopened.
