Following comments made by Tanga Odoi, Electoral Commission Chairman of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party on how National Unity Platform leader, Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi can’t be the Head of State because he’s an amateur, Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Spokesperson, Ssemujju Nganda has assured Tanga how Kyagulanyi will lead him.

“Let’s pray for life. I can assure Tanga Odoi, that you will be led by Hon. Kyagulanyi. When academics become cheerleaders, the cheerleaders will take their place,” said Ssemujju.

Ssemujju added that the moment one creates conditions for people they despise to become leaders, they become leaders.

He also questioned the NRM Electoral Commission’s integrity.

“Dr. Tanga Odoi is the Chairman NRM Electoral Commission. Before anyone even picks forms, he has already declared the candidate for 2026. How does anyone interested in that position be confident in any process led by Tanga Odoi,” he stated.

The outspoken legislator who was on appearing on NBS Morning Breeze also stated that he doesn’t see any academic merit when a physically weak person clings to power emphasizing that the President should declare his succession plan.
