NRM Electoral Commission’s Chairman Tanga Odoi has maintained his comments on Museveni’s presidency. Odoi said his statements were clear and straight to the point.

“The statement that President Museveni is here today, tomorrow, and in 2026. I own that statement. I was simply asserting a reality,” said Odoi while appearing on the NBS Morning Breeze show.

According to Tanga Odoi, Uganda does not need an experimental President.

“I told the NRM leaders that we should concentrate on what we can do better other than focussing on the idea that President Museveni should go,” he said.

Odoi claimed that the opposition has failed to defeat Museveni because they bring experimental candidates like NUP leader Bobi Wine.

“Bobi Wine is an amateur politically. You can’t swing this country into hullabaloo. He can be a cheerleader because people are poor and he has provided some sort of hope,” said Tanga Odoi.

He asserted that Bobi Wine and his NUP party need about 10 years to ground themselves politically.

“NUP benefited from the failures of other political parties. They don’t have an agenda. The Mugisha Muntu-Besigye combination was a big threat to NRM until they split,” he said.
