The National Unity Platform-NUP President, Bobi Wine real name Robert Kyagulanyi has denied the existence of disagreements within their party.

Bobi Wine claims that the regime is on intended propaganda to split NUP but as a party, they are as solid as a rock.

“Of course, they (regime) are so worried that NUP continues to grow in strength. They are also very sad that the NUP senior leaders have rejected Museveni’s maneuvers to compromise them.

They didn’t imagine that any party would for instance reject IPOD and all its benefits. This is how they had infiltrated and compromised many parties in the past!” says Bobi Wine.

Reports that have been making rounds indicate that a number of Members of Parliament and leaders within the NUP are split over the approach that the party should take in confronting the ruling National Resistance Movement. The so-called Bobi Wine loyalists are said to prefer confrontational politics while those in the Mathias Mpuuga camp want diplomatic politics.

According to Bobi Wine, several people have been paid by the regime to push blackmail and propaganda against NUP.

“We are aware they have paid many journalists across different media houses and bloggers to attack, malign, blackmail, and propagate lies about NUP and its leadership,” he says.

The former presidential candidate says that such propaganda is intended to divert their attention from more important issues.

“The incompetent regime does not want citizens to talk about the fuel crisis, the skyrocketing school fees, the persecution of hawkers and other low-income earners, etc. Their diversionary schemes will not work,” says Bobi Wine.

He believes that more propaganda against them is in the pipeline.
