Journalist named Jinja RDC

On Wednesday, President Yoweri Museveni appointed new Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), Resident City Commissioners (RCCs) and RDC Secretariat Commissioners.

“H.E the President in exercise of his Constitutional mandate has appointed the following persons as RDC Secretariat Commissioners, Resident District Commissioners, Resident City Commissioners, Deputy Resident District Commissioners and Deputy Resident City Commissioners,” said Faruk Kirunda, the Deputy Presidential Press Secretary.

Among the appointed is journalist Mike Ssegawa who has been named Jinja South Division RDC.

Ssegawa is the founder and Chief Editor of Watchdog Uganda, an online news platform.

Prior to his new appointment, Ssegawa has been serving as Mukono Municipality Councilor, a seat he won in the last general elections on an independent ticket.

Commenting about the exciting development, the Community Organiser thanked President Museveni for spotting him out of the many and giving him a chance to serve his country.

“I thank H.E for making me his Representative in Jinja South. I promise to serve my country diligently,” Ssegawa assured.
