Opposition strongman Bobi Wine, real name Robert Kyagulanyi, has called upon the international community to isolate President Yoweri Museveni and his government.

While speaking at the 2022 Geneva Summit for Human Rights and Democracy in Geneva, Switzerland yesterday, Bobi Wine, who began his address with a song for freedom, accused Museveni of ruling Uganda with an iron fist.

“He (Museveni) deploys the military against the citizens. Those who oppose him are either tortured, imprisoned, or killed, “said Bobi Wine.

Bobi Wine also blamed the western world for seeing Museveni as a “useful dictator” for regional stability.

“Far long the Western world has believed that allowing dictators to hold their nations hostage is an acceptable cost for perceived security.

Leaders who tolerate dictators and treat them as legitimate partners are complicit in their crimes, “he said.

It’s on such ground that the singer turned politician urged the international community to stop funding and cooperating with Museveni.

“I call upon the international community to isolate Museveni and his henchmen by imposing sanctions on them. You should also join us in demanding accountability for his crimes against humanity, “he said.
