Alexandreos Marinos, aged 29, a supporter of Bobi Wine and the National Unity Platform (NUP), has narrated her torture ordeal at the hands of state security operatives.

In a story run by NTV, Marinos sounded traumatized as she narrated what happened to her when she was arrested from her home in Mbuya by six security operatives.

According to Marinos, the security operatives were dressed in military uniforms, and she identified two of them (Erias and Hassan). She said they first explained the reason for her arrest before dragging her into a white vehicle called a “drone”.

“They identified themselves as officers from CMI. And the reason they gave for my arrest was that I have failed to adhere to what they have repeatedly told me. ‘Why do you always play Bobi Wine’s music?’,” Marinos stated.

While transporting her, Marinos whose body is ‘flooded’ with fresh wounds, said that while in the drone, the officers asked her about Bobi Wine’s son.

“They asked if I have information about Bobi Wine’s son smoking weed,” she said.

On reaching the detention facility, Marinos said that she found many other people.

She claimed that she was invited for ‘food’ by the officers.

“The food they meant was ‘torture’. They started beating and kicking me,” Marinos said.

“After gravely torturing me, they also raped me,” she added.

She further revealed that after three days of torture, she was dropped in Kitintale where she got a boda boda that took her to the sister’s place.

“Before dropping me, they warned me not to appear in the media or else they would come back for me,” she said.

Marinos stated that two days ago, the operatives attacked her again and tried to take her away.

“My neighbors gathered and the officers fled,” she said.

Residents advised her to go to the police and report, something she did, but the officers she found on duty at Kitante Police refused to record her complaint.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan deputy spokesperson advised Marinos to reach out to Jinja Road Police station.

Felix Kulayigye, the army spokesperson, turned down commenting on the matter, saying they had to first investigate if the victim was picked by soldiers.
