Peter Alacho, who had been the officer in charge of Kaato police station in Manafwa district was found dead in his office.

According to Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson, Alacho’s death came as a shock to them as he was in perfect health a day before his demise.

He said Alacho’s lifeless body was discovered by one of his juniors, who immediately called in colleagues. The body was retrieved from the seat in his office and taken to Mbale city mortuary pending a postmortem to establish the cause of death.
