Passengers travelling on Link bus robbed at gunpoint

Passengers travelling in the Link Bus from Kampala to Fortpotal have been put at gunpoint on the Mityana Highway.

According to reports, the armed robbers stopped the bus at Kigalama in Mityana District and stole all the passengers’ belongings.

Martin Okoyo, the Mityana District Police Commander, confirmed the incident but stated that police would make an official statement soon.

The victims are reportedly camped at Mityana Central Police Station.

The incident comes just two days after another Link bus caught fire at Wakaliga traffic lights. Also, two weeks ago, another Link bus was involved in a fatal accident that claimed the lives of over 20 people.
