Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) women leaders have been denied bail and remanded to Luzira prison until June 7.

These include Soroti Woman MP Anna Adeke, Kampala Deputy Lord Mayor Doreen Nyanjura, and other FDC activists. They have been charged with holding an illegal protest and inciting violence.

The group was arrested yesterday protesting high commodity prices and the jailing of former FDC president Dr.Kizza Besigye who is currently on remand at Luzira prison after declining to pay a Shs30 million cash bail.

Adeke, Nyanjura, and other activists first appeared before court last evening, but they were remanded after the court failed to hear their bail applications.

The court needs time to study documents presented by their sureties.
