“Our officers from the flying squad were able to extract footage from the nearby CCTV cameras,” he said.

“He was pursued by the task team from the Flying Squad Unit until on Friday in Gganda where bullets were fired and, unfortunately, one wounded him. He later succumbed to bullet injuries at the scene,” he said.

His body was later conveyed to the city mortuary in Mulago for a postmortem.

The vehicle, which is suspected to have been stolen by Mutooro has also been recovered at the crime scene in Gganda, Nansana.
