Police at Old Kampala conducted an operation in the basement of KK Trust building, Namirembe Road, Blue Room Zone, Kisenyi One parish, a known spot of notorious phone snatchers, tricksters who sell phones and stealthily interchange them, giving their unsuspecting customers fake phones.
15 suspects were arrested; Mutabazi James, Wavamuno Amisi, Balyejusa Joel, Lugendo Edgar, Gumisiriza Arthur, Nyanzi Musafaru, Waswa Musa, Kwesiga Emmanuel, Lusiba Ivan, Ssemwanga Umaru, Wokulira Daniel, Mukwajanga Grace, Kayiira Martin, Oketcho Francis, and Mudima Musa.
“They were all charged with possession of suspected stolen property,” said the police.
According to the police, 18 mobile phones were recovered and exhibited.
