Police in Tororo are currently on a manhunt for a man accused of brutally assaulting his four-year-old son, resulting in the child’s tragic death.

The spokesperson for Bukedi South Police, Moses Mugwe, has identified the suspect as Patrick Mamkol, a resident of Kipangori B Village in Molo Sub County. The victim has been identified as Amoni Emonyo.

According to Mugwe, Mamkol allegedly used an iron rod to strike the child on the head and scalded him with hot water, all because some pieces of meat had gone missing. After assaulting his son, Mamkol reportedly confined him inside their residence. The boy’s mother promptly rushed him to Tororo Main Hospital, but sadly, medical personnel declared him dead upon arrival.

Meanwhile, the deceased child’s body is currently being held at Tororo Hospital, awaiting a postmortem examination.
