Police have arrested a 66-year-old man for allegedly killing his wife over conjugal rights. The incident happened in Kyambogo village, Nyabitanga sub-county, Ssembabule district. The deceased has been identified as Glades Nassazi, aged 40.

Fred Enanga, the Police spokesperson, confirmed the arrest and disclosed that the couple had been entangled in a series of domestic conflicts.

He, however, said that matters escalated on a fateful day when the suspect hit the wife’s head with a hoe.

“The motive of the killing was established to be jealousy after he [the suspect] accused his wife of denying him his conjugal rights and cheating on him with other men in their house,” said Enanga.

He added, “We continue to strongly condemn such marital murders. The victim died in a violent manner after she was hit with a hoe on the head. We cannot tolerate such violent acts in relationships and the wider community.”
