Singer Evelyn Nakabira alias Evelyn Lagu, has passed away after a long struggle with kidney complications.

The news was confirmed by a fellow artist and the President of the Uganda National Musicians Association (UNMF) this morning.  

“We took these pictures last Tuesday at the Jam Session, and I can’t believe you are gone, dear Evelyn Lagu,” said Kenzo in a post.

“You have fought a significant battle, my sister, and may your soul now find eternal peace,” he added.

Evelyn Lagu has been battling with kidney failure for a long time, a condition that led her to undergo a kidney transplant in Turkey. The procedure was unsuccessful due to her fragile health.
